Everstone Studio has announced Imperial Palace, the second major expansion for Where Winds Meet, as part of the open-world Wuxia ARPG’s half-anniversary celebration. The expansion is set to launch in late May and will shift the game’s story to the center of imperial power.
The update follows the Hexi expansion and opens a massive royal court area, with Everstone describing the new zone as roughly one million square meters in scale.
Imperial Palace Adds a New Royal Court Zone
The Imperial Palace expansion will let players explore forbidden palace grounds filled with more than 3,000 NPCs, rival factions, and new story threads. Players will investigate conspiracies, meet members of the royal family, and uncover new narrative connections tied to the future of Where Winds Meet.
The zone is being positioned as a major story expansion on a scale comparable to Kaifeng.

Panda Cosmetic, Homesteads, and Gauntlets Coming Soon
Everstone also shared a broader roadmap. A limited-time Panda cosmetic launches May 19 for 60 Echo Beads (about $0.99) and will remain available until June 17. Players can also claim three premium outfits for free during the half-anniversary event.
In June, Where Winds Meet will add the Homesteads system, letting players build a personal sanctuary in Qinghe with farming and other lifestyle features.
The roadmap also includes Gauntlets, a new weapon type coming this summer, built around hand-to-hand martial arts combat.

New PvE Modes and Companion System Planned
Two new modes are planned for June. Martial Path Domain will offer five-player cooperative PvE, while a new ancient tomb exploration mode will send players into dark ruins to fight rivals and secure loot.
A future Companion System will also add furry sidekicks whose dialogue and personalities evolve based on player bonds and shared adventures.

More Updates and Server Support Ahead
Everstone says it has released more than 100 updates and optimizations over the past two months, covering gear progression, PvP matchmaking, guild wars, beginner experience, controller support, PlayStation optimization, and more.
The studio also plans to expand guild features, improve weapon balance, and deploy new servers in Australia, South America, and the Middle East.
