New Delhi: A plea seeking an overhaul of NTA and a court-supervised reconduct of NEET-UG 2026 has been filed in the Supreme Court.
The Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) moved the Supreme Court, seeking a direction to the Centre to replace or fundamentally restructure NTA with a more robust, technologically advanced and autonomous body for conducting NEET.
The petitioner has urged SC to reconduct NEET-UG 2026 under the supervision of a judicially appointed, high-powered committee. The proposed panel, the plea reads, should be chaired by a retired SC judge and include a cybersecurity expert and a forensic scientist to ensure the integrity of the exam.
The plea also calls for interim oversight by such a committee pending the constitution of a National Examination Integrity Commission (NEIC).
