Kohima, June 18: Residents of Kohima will have access to a range of free healthcare services later this month as a multi-speciality medical camp is set to be organised at Lerie Panchayat on June 27 under the initiative of Kohima Town MLA Dr. Tseilhoutuo (Ato) Rhütso.
Organised in collaboration with the Ward Adoption Committee, the one-day camp will offer free consultations, medicines and diagnostic services under the theme “Healthy Community, Better Future.”
Specialist doctors will provide medical consultations, while beneficiaries will also be able to avail blood pressure and blood sugar screening, ultrasound services, ENT examinations, dental check-ups and cervical cancer screening through Pap smear tests for women.
In a move aimed at ensuring wider access to healthcare, organisers said home-based medical services will also be provided for bedridden and elderly patients unable to attend the camp in person.
The initiative forms part of Dr. Rhütso’s continuing efforts to expand access to healthcare services in both urban and remote areas of Nagaland. The MLA has been associated with organising free medical camps across the state, with a focus on preventive healthcare and early disease detection.
The camp will begin at 10 am at Lerie Panchayat and is expected to benefit hundreds of residents, particularly senior citizens, women and economically disadvantaged families.
Organisers said the programme aims to promote early diagnosis, preventive care and community wellness while encouraging residents to take proactive steps towards better health.
