The 2026 NBA Finals are finally here, and the matchup feels like basketball history repeating itself.
Twenty-seven years after the San Antonio Spurs defeated the New York Knicks in the 1999 NBA Finals, the two franchises will meet again with the Larry O’Brien Trophy on the line.

That approach overwhelmed both Philadelphia and Cleveland.

The Spurs also possess dangerous transition players in De’Aaron Fox, Castle and Dylan Harper, meaning New York cannot afford careless turnovers.
Whichever team controls the pace may ultimately control the Finals.
